Pennsylvania Girl Killed by Train
It was supposed to be a happy day. But Michelle L. Bowers' eighth birthday ended in tragedy when she was struck and killed by an oncoming train near the the Youghiogheny River in South Connellsville, PA.
"It is very tragic," said an investigator. "Given everything that I've learned, there was nothing the engineer could have done." The girl's mother, who was also struck by the train, is in critical condition.
