Medical personal from St. Vincent Health Center were sent to the scene in order to help emergency crews provide treatment to victims and extract them from wrecked cars. “We sent one of our emergency room physicians along with a trauma surgeon from Hamot (Medical Center) up to the scene,” said hospital spokesperson Cyndy Patton. “It’s more to assist in extrication. They’re just having trouble because of the pileup getting ambulances in and out of there.” It is forecasted that Erie will receive an additional 6 inches of snow by Thursday evening.
