Two-Car Accident in Vermont Causes One Fatality

A man from Whittingham, Vermont was killed after being involved in a two-car accident on Route 112. Emergency personnel pronounced Robert Fanning dead on the scene shortly after Vermont State Police and the Whittingham Fire Department reported to the accident. The victim was not wearing his seat belt. Fanning was on Route 112 driving south in a 1986 Volkswagen Golf when his vehicle suddenly veered out of its lane and collided head on with a 1999 Ford Explorer, driven by David Sokoloff of North Branford, Connecticut. Sokoloff and his family, who were passengers in the car, were taken to the Southwest Vermont Medical Center in Bennington to receive treatment for minor injuries.

Whitingham Man Killed in Route 112 Accident

The Sokoloff family all had their seat belts on at the time of the accident. Both the Ford and the Volkswagon were completely totaled because of the impact. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
