Fatal Car Crash in Liberty County

Law enforcement officials with the Georgia State Patrol are investigating an accident that took the lives of two teenage girls. Police investigators report that late in the evening, January 21, four young people, driving in a 2006 Scion were heading west on Tibet Road, nearly 10 miles outside of Hinesville by the Liberty-Long County line. At some point, the car careened off the road and the rear of the car collided with a tree. The unidentified male driver and front-seat passenger received minor injures and emergency personnel provided treatment on the scene. The girls sitting in the back seat were pronounced dead on the scene. A police spokesperson has reported that the girls were from Hinesville, but their names have not been identified. Charges may be filed against the driver.
