The recent rash of winter weather resulted in a tragic car accident on I-70 causing one fatality and six other injuries. A woman from Lawrence, Kansas was killed when the car she was riding in spun out of control, slid across the median into oncoming traffic and was hit by an oncoming minivan. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the weather played a factor in the accident as freezing rain had started to fall. Traffic was disrupted following the accident while officials conducted their investigation.
