MADD Encourages New Technology
The Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) are encouraging state-wide adoption of a new technology to help save future victims of drunk driving. Cars can be equipped with a device that would detect the alcohol in a driver’s breath. The car will not start unless the breath-alcohol levels are within legal limits. According to MADD over 13,000 people die each year as a result of drunk driving with a blood alcohol concentration of eight-hundredths of one percent.
