MoisturePlus: Moisture Plus Maker Sued

Michael Connolly, an engineering systems analyst, is suing Advanced Medical Optics, claiming he developed acanthamoeba keratits as a result of using Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose solution. MoisturePlus was recalled on May 25 after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention linked use of the product to increased rates of acanthamoeba keratitis.

AMO Sued Over Eye Infection

Tom Moore, who is representing Connolly, "what they simply need to do is clean up the mess and do right by consumers who are loyal to the brand." Connolly still has not recovered fully from the infection and may need surgery. Advanced Medical Optics maintains their product is safe and says contamination can be blamed on improper contact lens handling techniques by consumers.
