Man Will Sue Complete Moisture Plus Manufacturer
Tony Hillier, 60, says that he became a victim of acanthamoeba keratitis after having used Complete Moisture Plus, which is manufactured by Advanced Medical Optics. Hillier had to undergo a corneal transplant two months ago in an attempt to save his left eye. It is not yet known if he will regain vision in that eye.

AMO, FDA Encouraging Consumers to Dispose of Evidence?
If you have a container of Advanced Medical Optics' Complete Moisture Plus, should you throw it away? Both AMO and the Food and Drug Administration recommend that consumers discard any unused Complete Moisture Plus solution that they still have. However, this action may be of enormous benefit to AMO; consumers essentially are destroying any evidence that they may have had that the contact solution was contaminated.

Complete MoisturePlus Made Life Miserable
Diane Harris spent months trying to find a diagnosis for her eye infection. Finally, she found an opthamologist who was able to diagnose her with Acanthamoeba keratitis. Contaminated Contact Solution Worrisome to Consumers
Consumers are worried after discovering that Advanced Medical Optics' Complete Moisture Plus Contact Lens Solution has been linked to a potentially blinding eye infection. Attorney David Ennis says that people who have contacted him are confused, scared, upset and do not know what to do next. "We are dealing with all these emotions," said Ennis. "We are directing these folks back to their opthamologist to be checked and to the FDA website for additional information about the recall. Unfortunately, for some of these victims it is too late ad they have been left with blindness or severe vision loss."

AMO Recalls Moisture Plus
Advanced Medical Optics is recalling Complete Moisture Plus Multi-Purpose Solution after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 138 people using the solution ended up getting acanthamoeba keratitis. Investigators believe that the solution is contaminated and that people aren't getting the infection simply from being exposed to the bacteria in daily life.
