Worker Dies in Fall on UW-Madison Campus
A construction worker died after falling from a ladder at the campus of University of Wisconsin-Madison. The man had been working on asbestos removal at a site at Hiram Smith Hall when he fell seven feet off a ladder and landed on his head. The 37-year-old man's name has not yet been released.
UW police say that this is the first fatal accident that has occurred on the campus. UW police Sgt. Michael Newton says that "we have lots of construction happening. Our construction sites are very safe on campus. It's an accident. He was wearing all the safety equipment he should have been wearing and it happened."
