Plumber Falls to Death in Oakland
52-year-old Jarzy Bondizia fell 14 stories to his death in downtown Oakland. Authorities say that the impact of Bondzia's body hitting the ground was so great that a ring came off his finger and a rubber glove on his hand was torn.
The accident occurred at about 10:30 at a building under construction. Police say that they are treating the incident as a construction accident, but that the investigation is pending. Bob Lange, who works for Everest Waterproofing and was a witness to the accident, says that he "was working on the fifth floor with my partner. We think it happened below us because we did not see anything. He was on the ground immediately. There was no verbals or anything."
