Driver and Construction Worker Injured in Accident

The driver of a Dodge pickup crossed a highway median in Florida to hit a construction worker who was riding a tractor. The driver of the truck currently is in critical condition; he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. It is unknown why he crossed the median. The construction worker was not injured badly.

"This is just another example of how we can't stress enough work zone awareness," said William Thomas, the Florida Department of Transportation. "It's just important, whether it be road rangers or maintenance workers or construction workers. We all have a duty to be aware of what's going on in construction zones." Police have not released the name of either of the men involved in the accident.
